Let's Celebrate Raya Haji 2023 in Malaysia!

Raya Haji, also known as Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide, including in Malaysia.

It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

In Malaysia, Raya Haji is a public holiday and is observed with various religious and cultural practices.

During Raya Haji in Malaysia, Muslims typically wake up early to perform special prayers at the mosque.

After the prayers, they often participate in the ritual of sacrificing an animal, usually a goat or a cow.

The meat from the sacrificed animal is then divided into three portions: one for the family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the less fortunate in the community.

Family gatherings and feasts are an integral part of Raya Haji celebrations in Malaysia. People dress in traditional attire, visit family and friends, and exchange greetings of "Selamat Hari Raya" (Happy Eid).

Special dishes and delicacies are prepared, and it is customary to give and receive gifts during this festive period.

It's important to note that specific dates for Raya Haji vary each year as they are based on the Islamic lunar calendar.

The dates are determined by the sighting of the moon, and the holiday usually lasts for several days. To find the exact dates for Raya Haji in Malaysia for a particular year, it is advisable to refer to official announcements from religious authorities or the Malaysian government closer to the time of the celebration.

Selamat Hari Raya Haji semua!
